When was Genshin Impact released?
Genshin Impact was released worldwide on 28 September 2020, after more than 3 years of development at miHoYo studios. Revealed at E3 in June 2019, Genshin Impact was immediately perceived as the "clone" of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. And with good reason: the developers of Genshin have never hidden the fact that they drew inspiration from Nintendo's game when designing their own title.
A closed beta followed the announcement, flooding the web with in-game images of Genshin. Nothing could have generated such worldwide hype, with the game boasting magnificent graphics and fast-paced gameplay, with action at the heart of the combat system. Unsurprisingly, the release of Genshin Impact was a global success and remains hugely popular today, for a number of reasons.

There's no doubt about Genshin Impact's popularity. In addition to its tens of millions of downloads, it is the freedom offered by this RPG that appeals to players. Genshin Impact is a cross-platform game. At the time of its release, the game was available on mobile (Android and iOS), PC and PS4. The game was released on PS5 on 28 April 2021. The release date for Genshin Impact on Switch remains unknown for the time being. However, Hoyoverse has confirmed that its RPG will be coming to Nintendo's console, without announcing a specific date.
How to play Genshin Impact?
Genshin Impact is available on most platforms (with the exception of the Switch!), so it can be downloaded to any device you like! As the mobile version is of excellent quality, you'll have no trouble playing on your smartphone, provided that your device is optimally configured for Genshin. What is the gacha system in Genshin Impact?
Genshin Impact is a game with gacha elements: by obtaining resources in-game (notably Primogems) or via microtransactions, it is possible to unlock new heroes who can join your team on Genshin Impact. These heroes are obtained by random draw from a pool of characters: standard banners and event banners, the latter accessible for a limited time. While it will take a great deal of patience to obtain all the characters in Genshin Impact, regular draws will help you complete your collection over time.
