The Traveler is a special character in Genshin Impact. In addition to being the protagonist of the story, he is the only hero who can change his elemental attributes and gameplay. The Traveller can be Anemo, Geo, Electro and soon Dendro. Depending on the type you choose, his abilities and constellations change completely. We'll help you to see more clearly with this guide dedicated to the Traveler from Genshin Impact. Thanks to our tips and tricks, you will know the specificities of the different elements, the appropriate build, in which teams to play them, etc.
You start in Genshin Impact with the Traveler. You can choose between Lumine (the female character) or Aether (the male character).
It is not possible to summon him in the Banners. To unlock the constellations of the Traveler Anemo, you will need to increase your adventure level and trade Anemo Sigils in the souvenir shop in Mondsdadt. As for the Traveler Geo, the trick is to exchange Geo Sigils in the Liyue souvenir shop. Finally, for the Traveler Electro, materials can be obtained by making offerings to the statues of the seven of Inazuma.
Once you have unlocked the available elements, you will only need to interact with the statue of the seven of Mondsdadt for the Traveller to be of the Anemo type, with that of Liyue for the Geo element and finally that ofInazuma for the Electro element. It will be the same with Sumeru for the Dendro element.
The Traveler is not a particularly powerful character, but he has the advantage of being able to change elements and be a good support. He is ideal for starting with free-to-play accounts and will work in many teams.
The Anemo version of the Traveler is the first one you unlock. This one allows you to gather your enemies, but also to favour elemental reactions.
The Traveler Anemo will be most useful as a support for regrouping your enemies.
His Destructive Vortex elemental attack deals Anemo damage in the form of a wind vortex, which eventually explodes. It absorbs Pyo, Cryo, Hydro and Electro elements. Long presses will increase the area damage. The skill can be used to spread the elements and apply them to nearby enemies.
Gust Surge, the elemental rampage of the Reisender Anemo, draws objects and enemies forward for 6 seconds. The tornado carries several enemies away at once, which can drive them away. It is advisable to play with characters at a distance to be able to reach them easily.
The Traveler Anemo will be more relevant once you have unlocked its constellations.
The Traveler Anemo elemental attack draws enemies and objects within a 5 metre radius with its C1 Raging Vortex.
C6 Intertwined Winds reduces the Anemo resistance of enemies hit by the elemental rampage by 20%. If an elemental is absorbed, the resistance to it is also reduced by 20%.
The Traveler Anemo plays a supporting and battery role in Genshin Impact in that it provides energy to its team. The trick is to increase his Anemo damage, his energy recharge, his elemental mastery, but also his attack and damage rate as well as his critical hits.
As with most Anemo characters in the RPG, our advice is to give him the 4-piece Viridescent Venerer artefact set. 2 pieces of equipment give a 15% bonus to DMG Anemo. And with 4 pieces, the DMG inflicted by Dispersion is increased by 60%. The elemental RES of enemies is reduced by 40% for 10 seconds depending on the elemental type of the Scatter.
You can also use the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige set to increase the damage of the elemental rampage by 20% and the ATK of all your characters by 20% for 12 seconds after casting it.
If you are just starting out, the 4-piece The Exile set is also a good option: you increase the energy recharge by 20% and the elemental rampage restores 2 energy points to all characters (except the Traveller) every 2 s for 6 s.
Opt for ATK on the hourglass, Anemo damage bonus on the cup, and critical damage rate on the crown.
To complete the build support for the Traveler Anemo, the following weapons are recommended:
The Traveler Geo is often considered the lesser version of the Traveller. However, he can do good damage with his elemental rampage and help you block enemy attacks. As a bonus, he is very useful in exploration, as the character's Geo structures allow you to reach higher areas more easily and interact with Geo mechanisms, especially in the Chasm.
The Starfell Sword elemental attack drops a meteorite, dealing area damage. The Geo construct remains present for 30 seconds. On long press, you choose where the skill will be cast. You can climb the rock so that your ranged characters will be out of range of enemies.
The elemental rampage Wake of Earth triggers a shockwave that repels enemies and deals Geo area damage. A wall of rock then appears for 15 seconds. By casting the ability at the right time, you will block your enemies' attacks. But make sure it doesn't get in the way.
Once you have unlocked the first constellation of the Traveller (Unbreakable Rock Wall), the critical rate of characters near the elemental rock wall will be increased by 10%.
C4 Reaction Force restores 5 energy points when an enemy is hit by an Earth Awakening shockwave (up to 25 points in total).
For a support build, you are again advised to focus on energy recharge.
One of the best artifact choices for the Traveler Geo is the 4-piece Noblesse Oblige Set to increase the elemental rampage damage and ATK of your entire team by 20%.
For a more DPS-oriented build, we recommend the 4-piece Archaic Petra set: it confers a 15% Geo damage bonus. And after having obtained a fragment following a crystallization, all the members of the team gain 35% of elementary damage on the element which caused the reaction.
The 4-piece The Exile set is also suitable for increasing the energy recharge.
Prefer ATK% or energy recharge on the hourglass, Geo damage bonus on the cup and critical damage rate on the crown.
To increase the energy recharge, several choices are available: the Skyward Blade, the Favonius Sword or the Festering Desire.
The Traveler Electro may not be great for damage, but he provides a lot of energy to your team and can easily apply the Electro element to your enemies. You can play him in many teams to allow your heroes to perform their elemental rampage more often, even if they have little energy recharge.
Lightning Blade, the Traveler Electro elemental skill, deals Electro damage and leaves an Abundance Amulets when you hit an enemy. You can have a maximum of two at any one time. The character who picks up the amulet has their energy regenerated and their energy recharge increased to 20% of the Reisender energy recharge.
The elemental rampage Bellowing Thunder places an Electro aura on the active character for 12s. From then on, his normal and charged attacks summon Falling Thunder forth. When it hits an enemy, in addition to inflicting Electro damage, the active character recovers energy.
Thanks to the second constellation of the Electro Traveller (Violet Vehemence), enemies hit by Falling Thunder forth have their Electro resistance reduced by 15% for 8 seconds.
The C6 Word-Shaker will allow you to do more damage with the elemental rampage and regain an extra energy point.
The build of the Traveler Electro in Genshin Impact is particularly simple. All you have to do is increase his energy recharge as much as possible thanks to his weapon and his artefacts.
The best choice of artefacts for the Traveler Electro is the 4-piece Emblem of Severed Fate set. It increases the energy recharge by 20% and the damage of the elemental rampage is increased by 25% of the energy recharge.
You can also start with 2 pieces of the Noblesse Oblige set (+20% damage for the elemental rampage) and 2 pieces of Thundering Fury (+15% Electro damage).
The 4-piece Noblesse Oblige and The Exile sets also work for a support build.
Opt for energy recharge on the hourglass, Electro bonus on the cup and critical rate or critical damage on the crown.
To complete the Traveler Electro equipment, choose a weapon that increases energy recharge such as the Skyward Blade, theFavonius Sword or theSacrificial Sword, which offers a chance to reset the recharge time of the Traveller's elemental attack.
Regardless of your Traveller's element, to level up to 80+ in Genshin Impact, you will need :
Mainly in a support and battery role, the Traveller can integrate almost any team into Genshin Impact.
The Traveler Anemo controls enemies and promotes elemental reactions. Our advice is to play it with ranged DPS capable of reaching enemies caught in the tornado of the elemental rampage.
Examples of teams:
The Traveler Geo works very well with another Geo character, such as Zhongli, to take advantage of the Geo resonance:
Finally, the Traveler Electro will be able to join any team that needs energy. He will help Xiao to perform his elemental rampage more easily. You can also play him with Eula to do Superconduct.
The traveller appears to be about 15 years old, but is actually much older (at least 3000 years). Lumine is about 1m56 tall, while his brother, Aether, is about 1m62.
That's it for this guide to the Anemo, Geo and Electro versions of the Traveler in Genshin Impact. We hope you find our tips and tricks useful. Their build remains quite similar. They will be most relevant as support and battery. The choice of the elemental type of the Traveller will mostly depend on your needs: the Traveler Anemo gathers enemies, the Traveler Geo modifies the battlefield with its structures and the Traveler Electro provides more energy.
