Garena Free Fire has decided to hit hard, very hard, by announcing its new Free Fire World Series tournament. While organisers, players and fans have been frustrated throughout 2020 due to the global pandemic that has largely compromised the competitive circuit, the mobile Battle Royale is making its competitive return through the front door. The second edition of the Free Fire Worlds Series will bring together the best teams in the world from 22 to 29 May. They will be fighting for the record cash prize of 2 million dollars! Money isn't everything, but Free Fire fully justifies its place in our top competitive mobile games.
The competition will take place in Singapore and will feature the cream of the crop. 22 teams will be vying for the royal victory on the starting line, but in the end only one will remain! The participants are being selected according to their respective results in their national leagues (Vietnam, Thailand, Brazil, Arab League, European League, etc.). The best teams will go straight into the Main Event, where the remaining teams will have to go through the Play-In stage. Some teams have already validated their participation:
To know the names of the other 15 participants, we will have to be patient and wait for the results of the other national leagues.
In both the Main Event and the Play-In, the same format will apply. Competitors will have 6 matches to express themselves (rotation on the 3 available cards). The top and the number of eliminations will, as usual, give points that will determine the final ranking. For the Play-In teams, a top 2 finish is required to enter the Main Event on May 29th.
Free Fire also used the announcement to introduce the Free Fire All Stars which will take place in July and the Worlds Series in November which will take place at an as yet unknown location.
